Ontario Farmer’s Market Garden Veggies
Once syrup is done we move to the garden and get planting so we can provide our local Farmer’s Market (and ourselves!) with delicious herbs and veggies like lettuce, basil, beans, beets, carrots, hot peppers, sage, squash, and tomatoes to name a few. When it comes to our garden produce, we select non-treated, heirloom seeds and grow them in composted manure.
Our fertilizer is the composted manure, and manure tea we make from the cows and chickens we keep on our farm. We do not use pesticides or herbicides, but rather rely on the beneficial bugs and our own hands to take care of problematic pests. Our water comes from a dug pond on site that fills with rain water and the spring run-off, and we supplement with water from our local river if we have to.
Sustainable, Small Batch & Always Delicious.
We try to keep our garden natural and only till certain areas ensuring abundant wild flowers in the area for the wide variety of pollinators we are fortunate to have on our land.
