A family run, small business in Ontario

Garside Gardens is Mike and Janise Garside, who couldn’t do what they do without the help of their supportive families, friends and the lovely community on St. Joseph Island. Mike started Garside Gardens in 2010 and has been making syrup on St. Jo’s most of his life. His Great Grandfather started the tradition and it has continued in the family since then.

Janise grew up in Southern Ontario. During her Masters studies in Forest Conservation, she had an opportunity to check out Syrup production on St. Joseph Island. After seeing the process and meeting Mike, she moved north and never looked back.
